C.Gandsy Showroom

I am currently exhibiting paintings at the Chris Gandsy Showroom at 399 Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn, NY. It is a holiday pop-up store in Downtown Brooklyn. All paintings are for sale.

The store will be open until January 2010.

Artist Statement

Until recently I have been a painter. I began my sculptural work with site-specific works such as the tents that hang from lights. New sculptural works of thread are three-dimensional drawings. The process of hand weaving and threading is meditative. I use a limited palette to spotlight details and irregularities within the weaving as well as the overall shape. The thread installations are dense groupings of thread that run between walls at varying heights and tensions. At certain points of view the tiny threads appear as a unified beam of color or disappear into the white walls.
